Privacy Policy
Halo: Migraine Voice has no accounts and no sign-in. This page explains what we handle and why, in plain words.
Voice and audio
When you tap to start a call, your microphone audio is streamed in real time to OpenAI, our AI provider, which produces the spoken reply. Recording happens only during a call you start. Halo does not listen in the background, and does not create voiceprints or identify you by voice. Halo does not store your audio on its own servers. OpenAI processes it under its own terms and data policies, which we do not control. Please see OpenAI's privacy policy for how it handles data.
What our server stores
Halo creates a random device identifier. Our server stores that identifier together with how much free voice time you have used and your credits ledger, which is the record of credits you bought and spent, including purchase transaction identifiers and session lengths. It also keeps short-lived technical data such as your IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, location, contacts or photos.
What you say
What you say or ask about your health is sensitive. Our server does not keep conversation transcripts as part of your device record. Because your speech goes to OpenAI during the call, avoid sharing details you are not comfortable with. Do not share information about other people.
Purchases
Credits are bought through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment and we never see your card. We receive a transaction identifier so the server can verify and grant the credits.
How we use data
To run calls, count free time and credits, prevent abuse, and keep the service working. We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not track you across other apps or sites.
Sharing
Audio goes to OpenAI to provide the voice service. Our hosting provider stores the device record. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Your choices
You can deny or revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings at any time. To ask us to delete the data tied to your device identifier, contact us through the support page and include the identifier shown in the app if available. Deleting the app removes the identifier from your phone, but the server record may remain until you ask us to delete it, and unused credits may then be lost.
Children
Halo is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Not medical advice
See the Medical Disclaimer. In an emergency call 911.
